It was a cold, dark Saturday morning. The toasty fire crackled, as I sipped a smooth rich hot chocolate. The deep red wool blanket felt heavy in my lap.
Outside, the wind howled loud. Thru the window I saw a single snowflake falling from above. It was falling slowly, swaying in the wind, before it landed softly on the cold, wet ground.
From the kitchen, a nutty, sweet, cinnamon scent moved from the oven and filled the home with smell of the holidays. The scent was that of my candied pecans roasting.
